DYNAMIC CRYSTAL LATTICE?
Abstract
Is it possible to describe the lattice dynamic of 2D mechanical materials that exhibit negative Poisson ratio? There is evidence that a combination of space expansion and lattice vector rotation could be used to describe such a dynamic system. Since rotation is prohibited in conventional translation only lattice systems, such a generalized model could be helpful in better characterizing mechanical metamaterials. The preliminary model will be presented and discussed.
