OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF ALQ3 AND TIO2 MULTI LAYERS PROCESSED BY SPIN COATING**
Abstract
We investigate the exciton emission in Aluminum-tris-hydroxyquinoline (Alq3)/ Titanium dioxide (TiO2) multilayers by spectroscopy methods. The films are grown by spin coating technique on glass substrates at ambient conditions. Light emission from thin films of low molecular weight organic semiconductor of Alq3 is dominated by excitons. Thin films of Alq3 showed a broad PL peak at 532 nm. In multilayer structures, PL quenching is observed but there is no shift in the PL peak of the Alq3. The PL quenching can be understood by energy transfer via sensitization to TiO2 layers. The details of sample preparation process and optoelectrical properties are presented.
