AR Physics Education
Abstract
Blessed by the ubiquity of smartphone technology, the emergency of augmented reality (AR) brings the potential to truly revolutionize the teaching and learning of physics (and of sciences in general) because of its unparalleled ability to facilitate the interaction between the learner and AR objects superimposed in the real physical world. Because the technology is relatively new and complex, its effective implementation would depend on contemporary and longitudinal collaboration of generations of individual contributors. Hence a creative open platform rather is preferred to render this technology truly fruitful. A design using AR approach to teach wave phenomena based on a hypothetically constructed platform is proposed, and its technical challenges and methods of collaboration discussed.
