MODELING APOLLO ORBITS FROM FIRST PRINCIPLES **
Abstract
Once the Apollo missions left their first two rockets stages and Earth atmosphere behind, their orbits were solely determined by the gravitational pulls of the Earth and Moon. This program will model the Apollo orbit using a fourth-order Runge-Kutte numerical recipe, including the movement of the Moon and Earth during the orbit. The positions of the spacecraft, Earth, and Moon will be graphed using Matlab on a second-by-second basis.
